Hi fellow nifty,
Another instalment of this week’s favourite media from the prior week.
Enjoy!

Happy Halloween everyone.
As a brit, Halloween wasn’t a big occassion, but in Australia it is. Much like the US. I went out on halloween with my kids and the effort people put in to their costumes still amazes me.

I personally resonate with number 4: Develop a savings muscle.
Every paycheck, just transfer an amount to a different savings account so you don’t see it.
Limit how much your lifestyle can inflate by saving an amount first.
Favourite Podcast
I was introduced to this series by Grant Williams. This is part 1 of a 4 part series. Listening to it, it is eerie how events happening now are rhyming with the events told.
From Strauss and Howe’s Generational Theory:
According to the authors, the fourth turning is a crisis. This is an era of destruction, often involving war or revolution, in which institutional life is destroyed and rebuilt in response to a perceived threat to the nation's survival.

My favourite bit about this interview was the way Raoul described Elon Musk. I think Elon will be remembered for the next 1000 years.

U.N. warns of climate crisis as greenhouse gas levels reach record highs
I’m not a climate alarmist for a simple reason.
Humans are not logical creatures. We are emotional. We logically know carbon dioxide levels are increasing, but it does not implicitly compel us to change our behaviour.
I still drive a petrol car.
Most people who drive electric cars do so because they are cheap enough for them.
I do not think about how my actions can directly affect the environment when I know there are 8 billion other people who I cannot understand, let alone control.
Substack Recommendation
Micheal Lim on how people under the age of 30 are increasingly rejecting the boring 9-5 jobs.
And on a side note, I believe AI is going to displace the others.
I love this easy jog through a few high points. I could use a few more though!
